Windows almost never deletes everything when uninstalling a program from the hard drive. When this happens, we must manually finish the process by deleting any remnants of the program left behind by Windows (this effects all programs, not just Chronicle). A support tech will be more than happy to complete this process for you, but we wanted to ensure the proper steps are available to our users.
*If you have a terminal server, the process is much different. You will need to contact your company IT.*
IMPORTANT: Before getting started - This can only be completed from a Windows User Profile that has Administrative rights. Without Administrative rights, users typically cannot make changes to programs on the hard drive.
1.Go to add or remove programs (Windows 10 - Programs and Features) > uninstall Chronicle from the list.
2.Windows almost never deletes everything when uninstalling programs as we mentioned above. You will need to make sure ALL Chronicle and/or Chrontech folders are DELETED from the following locations on your computer:
C:\users\specific user\appdata\local\temp (you should be able to get directly to this folder location by searching %temp% on your computer).
C:\users\specific user\appdata\local
C:\users\specific user\appdata\local\programs
C:\program files x86
C:\program files
C:\program data (show hidden folders)
4.You can then install Chronicle fresh by going to your internet browser of choice (Internet Explorer, Chrome, ETC) > newinstall.gochronicle.com > Follow download steps
**NOTE: Your User Name is always the first four letters of your last name, followed by the first two letters of your first name. Example: John Smith = SMITJO
Your server address can and should simply be your companies 6 digit Chronicle Support ID alone (Effective 2018). Example: 808572
Please feel free to contact Chronicle support you have any questions or concerns.
