New Programming
The Accounting/Job Cost screen has been redesigned to allow you to view projected costs as well as actual costs. It has also been added as a tab in the job file. Some of its new features are: easy access to a visual project plan, adding supplements, creating job costs PDF reports, viewing of purchase order amounts as well as assigning account types to payables.
Settings in the Main System Setup allow you to based these projects on:
- Total costs projected from either "departmental target profit" or "budgeted labor + projected sub costs + inventory burden.
- Projected sub/material costs from either "purchase orders" or "budget". Purchase order amounts do not come from QuickBooks but rather are entered in Chronicle through the job file> job cost tab (new)> purchase order sub-tab (new)> new purchase order button.
- Project labor costs from either "total projection minus sub/mat/inventory projection" or "amount in budget".
The Project Plan view is a visual representation of how you set up the activities and their default time frames in the Main System Setup. You can from this screen adjust these time frame of one activity and the subsequent activities will be reset to the new timeline. From this example, the scheduling of the site visit is set to a 3 day default time range. If I cannot for what ever reason do the site visit in that time frame I can either move it or extend it to the new reality of the job. You can also create a PDF of this view.
