Chronicle 12.9 Release Notes

Please take this new update normally by clicking Install the Update Now.

Chronicle now supports document signing:  It is available on the desktop version and mobile version.

Please note that any new templates will not need to be marked as anything other than "No" in the "Allow Sending for Electronic Signature" and all existing templates with a signature field can be changed to "No" as well.

We recommend that you test your existing templates and if you are satisfied with how Chronicle deals with document signing, you are free to cancel your accounts with RightSignature.

Desktop Version

First, you must create a template with the Signature Block merge field.  To learn how to create a template with merge fields, click here: How to create a document template with merge fields

Once you add the template to a job, click Sign Document at the top left of the documents screen.

Add a note if applicable and then click next

Your customer will receive the following email:

They will click the link and they will be prompted to install Chronicle Mobile and use the app to sign the document.  Once the document is signed they will be prompted to complete a survey about your company.

Mobile Version

Add your template to the job by going to Jobs and looking up the job you'd like to add the template to and tap Add.

Then choose Photos, Video, Documents

On the next screen pick the department, then the template and select Next

The next screen will ask how you wish to sign the document.  If the customer is available, you can select Customer is present to sign now, or if they are not, you can choose Send customer request to sign.  If the customer is signing, check the box that says Fill in document data.

If the customer is available to sign, they will get a box like this and put their signature in the box.  Once they are happy with the signature, they can click accept.

If you are sending the customer a request to sign the document they will get an email that looks like this.  They will need to click on the link and download Chronicle Mobile to sign the document which will be like the steps above.

Our UWP App now offers 3 new options for merge fields under the more button.

Text Entry - For notes on a document.
Yes/No - For questions that your field agents can answer while on a job site.
Checkbox - For Checklists or as additional functionality for other questions.
