Overview of the Most Notable Changes
This Beta release is to provide test access to the new calendar, give you a preview of the new dashboards, and notify you of a number of bug fixes. We welcome feedback and suggestions: please email your input to feedback@gochronicle.com
Tool’s Menu has moved: We have moved the Tool's from a bar on the Home Tab to a Chronicle Icon visible on any tab.
Chronicle’s new Calendar: There are a couple of ways you can test drive the new Calendar.
Chronicle’s new Dashboards: Give you access to business analytical data in a graphical way and then lets you drill into that data.
Miscellaneous: We’ve made a variety of other changes, improvements, and bug fixes including adding a print button in the job manager and allowing increments of 1 minute in the labor manager.
Tool’s Menu
Chronicle has moved the tools menu to the large Chronicle Icon button in the upper left corner of Chronicle which is visible on all tabs. There you can edit which tools to view, unpin content, view your version number and see your Chronicle Support ID. You can pin jobs, documents, people, and organizations to this list for easy access. You will find the "pin button" on the jobs, people, or organizations tabs or for the documents from within in the files of jobs, people, or organizations. When you want to unpin content click on the "unpin content" button found on the Tool's Menu and select which ones you want to unpin.
Calendar
Chronicle’s current calendar is still functional and on the Calendar tab. However, to view the new Calendar click on the “Test New Calendar” button which you will find in the ribbon on the main Calendar tab. Or go to a job file, highlight an activity, and select the “Schedule” button. This will open the new calendar. On the calendar grid you can highlight the time frame of the event which will automatically open the “New Calendar Event” box or click on the "Add" button and it will open. Then complete the various parts of the event details and save.
New features include:
- You can now create events without assigning anyone to them yet. Then view all unassigned events and assign who is available that day.
- You will be able to see who is available for the time frame you have selected.
- Reminders will move with an event if the event day/time is changed.
- You can now schedule activities from the Job Manager> activities tab by right clicking on the overdue activity and select the option to schedule if needed.
- When you right-click an existing event, these right-click menu options are available: Add Job Feedback, Open Job File, Open Job Journal, Add Job Journal.
- When you right-click an existing event, you can remove a person from the event.
- When you right-click an existing event, you can shift events for this job, which lets you see all other events for the same job and shift them forward or backward in time.
- Customize calendar display from the bottom of the screen.
- When you right-click an existing event, you can extend it for one or more days, and, if the event is related to a job, optionally also shift other events for that job.

Dashboards:
Much like the heat gauge on the dashboard of your car, Chronicle’s dashboards will give you, at a glance, high-level metrics of your business using key performance indicators and pivot grids. Patterns will emerge telling you how your business is doing in real time. Once you have created your dashboards you can drill down into the data by clicking on the tile. New Features include:
- Ability to drill down into the data from big picture to individual jobs.
- Drag and drop capability of fields from rows to columns.
- Use of time for a single period or period over period.
- Dashboards can be for financial and non-financial metrics.
- Refresh of dashboards can be done in background to enable you to keep working.

Miscellaneous:
Setup:
- Misc Tab:spelling settings added: US vs Canadian English.
- Survey Tab: The department was causing confusion about when the survey will be required.
- Hid the department and added a note to the bottom of the screen about how to require a survey. Use a rule to require a survey for a particular department.
Job Manager:
- Added Print button so that grids can be printed.
Bonus Manager:
- Removed beta message from top of screen.
Calc Report:
- Added Final Invoice Date, Final Payment Date, and Days Between Final Invoice and Payment columns: Also added customization preferences that determine whether these columns are visible.
- Review Approved Bonuses: when marking bonuses as paid, focus jumps to a random record once you mark any item paid, so you keep having to scroll back to whereyou were. Fixed.
Labor Manager:
- Add screen: Fixed errors when typing times if one changes final minute or am/pm.
- Add screen: Tab/shift-tab now navigates from start time to end time or to next/prev line.
- Labor import: start/end time edits now allow 1 minute increments: Previously forced five minute increments.
Quick Journal:
- Spell check button added: This checks both subject and body with word style spell-check box. Language option defaults to English but lets user check in French or Spanish.
Reports List:
- Short-cut buttons to main report areas: Added buttons for Job Manager, Marketing, Profitability, Labor, Graphs, Trends, Collections, and Bonus to Reports panel on Home Tab to make this an easy place to get to all of the main reports in Chronicle.
Group Manager:
- Fixed: Group manager hung or crashed when user checked or unchecked group members.
