To work with documents you must:
- Click on the documents tab found in the job, person, organization, or equipment file.
- Click on the documents button on the InfoPanel of any job, person, or organization. (To view document for equipment you must right click on the specific piece of equipment.)
The Basics of the Documents Screen
To add, open, or delete a document: Buttons are provided for easy access to these actions.
To fax/email documents: Simply highlight the documents you wish to email and click the Email/Fax button. Chronicle creates a new journal with the selected documents attached. Send the email/journal just as you would elsewhere in Chronicle.
Pinning Documents: Chronicle has a management tool that allows you to "pin" a document to the pinned list for easy access. For example if this is a big job and you are constantly in this document you do not need to open the job file to open this document.
Creating PDF documents: If the Acrobat server has been enabled for your company, you can turn any document in the list into a PDF. Contact Support to enable.
Tools list button: There are many actions you can take in the tools list including customizing the display. The most important tool is the Thumbnail viewer. This allows you to see pictures as thumbnails and not load the entire picture.
To change information about the document: When you select a document information about that document is displayed to the right where you can change things about it such as what department it goes too or what requirement it meets. You can even see the history of documents that you might change along the way such a monitoring reports.
Document overview: There is an overview list to the left of your documents including all deleted, sent documents and department related documents.
