If you import a Word or Excel document into Chronicle and there are problems with it (for example, the document might come up blank or if it doesn't launch at all), this is generally because some of your Microsoft Office components are out of date.
If you have Excel 97: This version of Excel is obsolete and no longer supported. It does not work with Chronicle.
If you have a current version: Go to the Microsoft Office Update site, and then click Check for Updates. If this site tells you that you need any updates, take them, shut your computer down (actually turn it off; don't just restart it). Then start the computer again and retry the operation in Chronicle.
If you have Virus software that protects Microsoft Office documents: Disable this setting. For example, in Norton 2003, click Options, click Miscellaneous, and uncheck Enable Office Plug-in.
