Chronicle provides a way for you to communicate to others that you are away from your desk and when you expect to be back. This feature is especially helpful for those who answer the phone: They can now tell the caller exactly when the person they're calling will be back without having to waste time going around the office and asking “When will so-and-so be back?”
To take advantage of this feature, employees must get in the habit of changing their status whenever they log into Chronicle and whenever they leave their desk or return to it.
To Change or View Availability Status
No matter where you are in Chronicle, you can always change your status or view someone else's from the drop-down menu in the header of Chronicle.
If you choose Away, Chronicle lets you indicate when you expect to be back. You can also use the Comment entry to indicate where you are going, for example, you might indicate that you are going to be at a particular job site.
You do not need to stay logged into Chronicle for Chronicle to remember the status you set; Chronicle keeps your status set for the remainder of the day whether you are logged in or not. However, when a new day begins, Chronicle automatically clears the status for all employees, so you must set your status every day.
Employees that aren't listed in the Online Status window haven't set their status today.
